Rockland County, NY – A Rockland County resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury in connection with a child pornography case spanning multiple states. The indictment, issued on January 29, 2025, charges Jason J. Traina, 52, of Rockland County, NY, with distribution of child pornography as part of an investigation led by federal and local law enforcement agencies.
Traina made his initial appearance in the Southern District of New York on January 31, 2025, where prosecutors argued that he should remain in custody pending trial. However, a United States Magistrate Judge released Traina with conditions, including home detention and electronic monitoring.
The case is part of a broader federal investigation that also resulted in charges against Carrie Marie Campbell, 40, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, who has been charged with receipt of child pornography. Campbell remains in custody pending a detention hearing.
If convicted, Traina faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and a maximum sentence of twenty years. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Council Bluffs Police Department, with significant assistance from the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office, FBI Safe Streets NY, and the Stony Point Police Department.
