Rockland County — Local entrepreneurs will soon have access to expanded training and support through a new partnership between Rockland County and the Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC). The initiative aims to strengthen small businesses in Orangetown, Clarkstown, and Stony Point, with a separate program in development for Ramapo and Haverstraw.
County officials say the collaboration is designed to help new and existing business owners access technical assistance, training, and resources as they navigate the challenges of launching and growing a business. The WEDC program, set to begin in early 2026, will offer structured coursework and guidance tailored to the needs of small businesses in the participating towns.
To introduce the initiative, the county and WEDC will host a kickoff event on Wednesday, December 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clarkstown Town Hall. The event will provide an overview of available resources, details about the upcoming training program, and opportunities for business owners to connect with support organizations.
County representatives are encouraging local business groups, including the North Rockland Chamber of Commerce, to share information about the program—particularly with members based in Stony Point—so that entrepreneurs across the region can take advantage of the new opportunities.
