Nyack, NY – Rockland County is exploring the creation of a 21-mile Riverway Trail to cater to pedestrians and cyclists. Stretching from Palisades in the southern part of the county to Stony Point in the north, this proposed trail aims to run alongside or near the Hudson River. The project is motivated, in part, by the mental health challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and seeks to provide residents with ample opportunities for outdoor recreation.
County Executive Ed Day is championing the endeavor, with a focus on promoting community well-being. The project encourages residents to enjoy and engage with their surroundings, emphasizing the importance of public input.
For those interested in this project, there’s an opportunity to participate and share their perspectives on October 17, 2023. The drop-in session will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Rockland BOCES gymnasium, located at 131 N Midland Ave in Nyack. To learn more, visit here.
