A Monsey woman was killed Friday after the vehicle she was in crashed off I-84 not far from Scranton, Pennsylvania. That’s according to TheYeshivaWorld.com. Serach Kagan was reportedly thrown from the car after it veered off the roadway and flipped, rolling down an embankment. She died at the scene. It’s not clear whether she was the driver or a passenger. Her husband suffered non-life-threatening injuries and their four children were unhurt. No other details were available.
Nyack School Asst. Superintendent to Step Down
An assistant Nyack School District superintendent, whose boss is herself under fire from district unions, is leaving this summer. That’s according to News 12. Dr. Grace Chan, the assistant superintendent for finance and operations, will reportedly leave as of July 1st for a similar job in the Putnam Valley School District. Several unions and parents have expressed opposition to Superintendent Dr. Susan Yom, and called for her to resign.
Congestion Pricing Final Vote to Come Wednesday
A final vote on the controversial New York City congestion pricing plan is expected Wednesday. NBC New York reports government vehicles will likely be exempted from the tolls, as will most commuter buses and yellow school buses in the city’s Public Schools, charter and Catholic schools, as well as private schools if they have a contract with the Department of Education. If approved, the plan could start in June. Cars will be charged $15 to enter Manhattan below 60th Street, while trucks could be charged up to $36, depending on size.
