Ramapo, NY – As the summer season approaches, the Town of Ramapo is taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of its residents. Supervisor Michael Specht and the Town Board are pleased to announce the availability of free pool safety signs. These signs are designed to help provide accurate information in the event of an emergency, ensuring that 911 responders can quickly and easily locate the pool area.
The signs feature spaces to write the address and cross streets, making it clear and simple to communicate the exact location to emergency services. This initiative is part of the town’s ongoing efforts to promote safety and prevent accidents, particularly around swimming pools.
Residents can pick up their free pool signs at the Supervisor’s office, located at 237 Route 59 in Suffern. Supervisor Specht emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Ensuring that your pool area is equipped with a visible and informative sign can make a critical difference in an emergency situation. We encourage all residents with pools to take advantage of this free resource.”
The signs, which include a reminder to “Never Swim Alone,” are designed to enhance safety and provide peace of mind to pool owners and their families. This effort is supported by the Town of Ramapo in collaboration with local emergency services to ensure a safe, happy, and healthy summer for all residents.
