Orangeburg, NY – U.S. News & World Report has ranked Dominican University New York as a top National University for Social Mobility for 2025. Since the category’s introduction in 2019, Dominican University has consistently been recognized for improving the outcomes of graduating college students. For 2025, the university was ranked No. 51 in the National Universities category for social mobility, placing it among the top three private universities in New York in this category.
Top performers in the social mobility category excel at advancing opportunities for disadvantaged students by enrolling and graduating large proportions of students awarded Pell Grants.

As a National University, Dominican offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate majors, along with master’s and doctoral degrees. The university provides advanced programs in fields such as business, nursing, education, occupational therapy, and organizational leadership. It also offers doctorate degrees in nursing and physical therapy, making it the only university in Rockland County, just 17 miles from New York City.
In recent years, Dominican University has secured multiple federal grants to enhance its STEM programs, launch a new Public Health Informatics and Technology Program, and upgrade campus technology. Additionally, the university has received funding for a new occupational therapy initiative.
