About Meals on Wheels Rockland’s Senior Activity Centers
Rockland residents aged 60 and up are invited to participate in the Senior Centers throughout the county. The centers offer transportation services through a fleet of buses with CDL-certified drivers, ensuring seniors can travel safely between their homes and the centers. The program’s focus on socialization aims to improve mental health, as studies show it enhances mood, cognition, and memory while promoting healthy behaviors.
Participants benefit from monthly services provided by trained caseworkers, assisting with various needs to help them maintain independence. Programs are funded in part by the Administration for Community Living, New York State Office for the Aging, and the Rockland County Office for the Aging. Contributions are voluntary, confidential, and directly support the expansion of services. No one is denied services based on their ability or willingness to contribute.
Community leaders are invited to join the ribbon-cutting celebration beginning at 10:00 a.m. for this exciting addition to the Haverstraw community.
