Orangetown Supervisor Teresa M. Kenny met with Dr. Maureen Raymo, Co-Founding Dean, Columbia Climate School and Director of Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
Located in the hamlet of Palisades, Lamont scientists study the origin, evolution and future of the natural world on every continent and in every ocean. With their many contributions to the scientific world, Lamont was the first to map the ocean floor and the first to predict El Niño events.
Supervisor Kenny toured their Core Repository which houses the greatest collections of samples from the deep sea and even met marine biologist, Dr. Andrew Juhl, who researches microorganisms in the Hudson River.
