In the wake of Sunday’s antisemitic attack in Colorado, Rockland law enforcement has stepped up patrols at local houses of worship. Clarkstown police were spotted outside the New City Jewish Center, and Ramapo’s Police Chief Daniel Hyman confirmed his department doubled patrols during the Shavuot holiday. While no specific local threats have been identified, authorities emphasize the importance of community safety and vigilance.
2. Detective Michael Cruger Retires After 30 Years in Law Enforcement
The Haverstraw Police Department honored Detective Michael Cruger, who is retiring after a remarkable 30-year career in law enforcement, including two decades in Haverstraw. Known for his investigative expertise and mentorship, Cruger also served on the elite CERT team during his time as a correctional officer at Sing Sing. The Town of Haverstraw extends its heartfelt thanks and best wishes for his retirement.
