The Third Annual Phoenix Festival: Live Arts in Nyack is set to take place from September 12th-22nd, 2024, in Nyack, New York. Launched in 2022, the festival is spearheaded by Artistic Director Elise Stone and Executive Director Craig Smith. Organized by the NYC-based Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, the festival is supported by a broad coalition of Rockland County businesses and various arts and tourism grants, including contributions from the New York State Council on the Arts and Empire State Development. The event has also garnered sponsorship from local enterprises such as Big Red Books, Emerald Medicare, and Hotel Nyack, reinforcing the strong community backing for this cultural celebration.
This year’s festival promises a rich array of performances featuring prominent New York City theatre companies, music, improvisation, and an innovative augmented reality walking tour. For the first time, the event will offer free, family-friendly performances at Nyack’s Memorial Park, situated along the scenic Hudson River. The festival will utilize multiple venues across the village, including The Nyack Center, Nyack Library, First Reformed Church, and Hotel Nyack, creating a dynamic and immersive arts experience throughout the town.
