Clarkstown, NY, October 8, 2024 — The Clarkstown Central School District’s 2024 Bond Referendum was overwhelmingly approved by voters on Tuesday, receiving 1,600 “yes” votes, which accounted for 79.09% of the total vote. The $110 million capital improvements project will address essential upgrades, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), window, flooring, and electrical systems at all nine CCSD elementary schools and the Birchwood School.
The project, expected to take five years to complete, is tax neutral, meaning there will be no increase to current taxes.
Superintendent of Schools Marc Baiocco, Ed. D. expressed gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “The continued support of our community will have a direct impact on student learning, health, and safety for years to come.”
