NEW CITY, NY – Clarkstown’s three pools are gearing up to welcome residents for the summer season. The Germonds pool is already open, with the Congers pool set to open tomorrow, and Lake Nanuet scheduled to open next weekend, according to Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann.
Lake Nanuet
Opening next weekend, Lake Nanuet is located at Lake Nanuet Drive & Blauvelt Rd., Nanuet, NY 10954. This park offers a lake for swimming, a water slide, a bathhouse, and a refreshment stand. For outdoor activities, visitors can access ballfields, picnic areas, and a playground.
Supervisor Hoehmann encourages residents to take advantage of these facilities, ensuring a summer filled with outdoor activities and community engagement.
Germonds Park
Located at Germonds Rd., West Nyack, NY 10994, Germonds Park spans 78.3 acres and offers a variety of amenities. The park features two swimming pools, a diving pool, and a bathhouse with a 151-foot water slide. For sports enthusiasts, there are lighted ballfields and basketball courts. Families can enjoy picnic areas and a playground. Picnic permits are available for $60, and the shelter can be reserved for $160, with a $100 cash security deposit. Note that radios and public address systems are not allowed in the picnic areas, and only five guests are permitted to use the pool with a valid pool pass holder.
Congers Memorial Park
Set to open tomorrow, Congers Memorial Park is located at 8 Gilchrest Rd., Congers, NY 10920. This expansive 177.88-acre park includes a swimming pool with a bathhouse, a water slide, and a community center. Visitors can also enjoy a refreshment stand, tennis courts, a playground, and handball and bocci courts. The park boasts ballfields, basketball courts, and a picturesque 100-acre lake. Picnic areas and shelters have the same permit and reservation fees as Germonds Park. Fishing is permitted in the lake, adhering to all prevailing laws, and during winter, residents can enjoy ice skating at Kings Park if conditions are deemed safe.
