Clarkstown, NY — The Town of Clarkstown unveiled its newly renovated turf Little League fields at Germonds Park on Opening Day for the West Nyack Little League. The grand opening, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, was attended by Clarkstown Town Supervisor George Hoehmann, New York State Senator Bill Weber, New York State Assemblyman Patrick Carroll, and several Clarkstown Town Council members, who all came together to celebrate this major enhancement for the community.
The new turf infields are anupgrade for the town’s recreational facilities, offering improved playing surfaces for young athletes and ensuring the fields are more durable and accessible for all. Hoehmann expressed his excitement about the project, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on both the players and the community.
The project was made possible through a collaborative effort between the Town of Clarkstown Parks & Recreation Department, the Department of Engineering and Facilities Management, and West Nyack Little League. Together, they ensured the successful completion of the fields, which will now serve as a home base for countless games, practices, and community events.
Weber and Carroll also spoke during the ceremony, praising the efforts of local leaders and the community’s commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities for families.
The new turf fields at Germonds Park are expected to serve not only the Little League but also other community organizations and sports teams, providing a top-tier facility for various recreational activities. As the ribbon was cut and players took the field for the first time, it was clear that this project was a major step forward in Clarkstown’s commitment to fostering an active and engaged community.
