CLARKSTOWN, NY — The holiday season will shine brightly in Clarkstown as the town prepares to kick off its annual Winter Wonderland celebration with a festive tree lighting and family-friendly activities on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Congers Community Center. A rain date is scheduled for Friday, December 12.
The free event, running from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., promises an evening packed with seasonal magic. Highlights include a lively Matty Roxx children’s concert, horse-drawn wagon rides, marshmallow roasting by the Lakeside Fire Pit, and complimentary cookies and hot chocolate. Families will also have the chance to capture cherished memories with photos with Santa.
To help ease parking and traffic, the town will operate a shuttle bus between St. Paul’s School (365 Kings Highway, Valley Cottage) and the Congers Community Center at 8 Gilchrest Road. The shuttle will run continuously from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Town officials say the Winter Wonderland opening has become a beloved tradition, drawing families from across Rockland County to celebrate the start of the holiday season together.
