Montgomery, NY — The Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan and Rockland recently held its annual Donor and Volunteer Appreciation Reception at Resorts World Catskills, bringing together more than 100 donors, volunteers and community leaders for an evening recognizing service and philanthropy across the three counties.
The event acknowledged volunteers marking 5, 10, 15 and 25 years of service. According to the organization, those recognized have contributed leadership, time and financial support in efforts aimed at improving quality of life throughout Orange, Sullivan and Rockland counties.
During the reception, the Foundation presented the Karen Minogue Award for Distinguished Service to Derrik and Allison Wynkoop. The award is given to individuals whose volunteerism and philanthropy reflect long-term community leadership.
Elizabeth Rowley, chief executive officer of the Community Foundation, presented the award and cited the Wynkoops’ ongoing involvement and impact in the Hudson Valley. The couple accepted the recognition along with a commemorative watercolor painting of an oak tree, symbolizing growth and enduring roots within the organization.
In remarks at the event, Rowley said the Foundation’s work depends on the continued commitment of its volunteers and donors, adding that the Wynkoops represent the spirit of service the organization seeks to promote.
