A life member of the American Legion Post 1682 William E. DeBevoise American Legion Post in New City who was elected to be the National Commander of the American Legion this week in Wisconsin. Jim moved to Maine in 2017 to be closer to family but maintains ties to the community he resided for 40 years. Clarkstown Police Chief Wanamaker and the CPD Honor Guard were invited to attend the convention and present the flag at the swearing in ceremony. We wish Jim well as he leads the American Legion and its nearly two million members for the next year.
