New City, NY – Rockland County is inviting residents to weigh in on the future of housing and community development through a newly launched survey. The survey is part of the County’s effort to develop its Five-Year Consolidated Plan for 2025-2029, focusing on affordable housing, economic growth, and community development needs for low- and moderate-income residents.
Organized by the Rockland County Office of Community Development, the survey will remain open until March 15, 2025. Residents can complete the survey online at https://arcg.is/1rn5DP2 or attend an upcoming public meeting where in-person participation will be available.
The results of the survey will play a key role in shaping the County’s priorities for affordable housing and development projects. The Consolidated Plan is a requirement by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to ensure that Rockland County remains eligible for critical funding through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs. These federal resources help finance initiatives aimed at improving housing conditions and promoting economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income communities across the county.
County officials are emphasizing the importance of community input to guide decisions that will influence Rockland’s growth over the next five years. Public feedback will help identify the most pressing needs and shape funding priorities for projects such as affordable housing developments, infrastructure improvements, and economic support programs.
