Stony Point, NY – Local officials and residents gathered at 11 a.m. today for the much-anticipated ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly reopened Dunkin’ in Stony Point. The event marked the official grand opening of the franchise, located on South Liberty Drive, which had been undergoing renovations for several months.
In attendance at the ceremony were notable local figures, including Stony Point Supervisor Jim Monaghan, Rockland Legislator Doug Jobson, Rockland Economic Development and Tourism Director Jenna Nazario, and North Rockland Chamber of Commerce Secretary Tom Ossa. The franchise owners expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the support they received from the community, which was evident in the large turnout at the event.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support from our loyal customers and the community,” said one of the franchise owners. “It’s an exciting day for all of us.”
The excitement kicked off early, as Dunkin’ held a special giveaway starting at 9 a.m. The first 100 customers in line received a booklet for one free coffee per week for a year, a prize that many eager coffee lovers braved the cool morning temperatures to win. A free photo booth, courtesy of Pro Photo Booth DJs, was also available, adding to the festive atmosphere.
One attendee, Jessica, commuted from New City early in the morning to get in line. “I’ve been here since seven, camped out in my car before lining up. I was number 15, so I got the free coffee for the year—it was definitely worth it!” Like many others, Jessica plans to make the most of the promotion, noting that she will likely visit Dunkin’ frequently and share her free coffee vouchers with family and friends.
A group of teens, who had been waiting in line since 7:30 a.m., was thrilled to be among the lucky 100. “It’s a great way to save a few bucks over the next year,” one said, smiling.
The grand opening is part of Dunkin’s continued commitment to providing North Rockland residents with a modern, inviting space to enjoy their favorite coffee and baked goods. The franchise’s owners have worked hard to ensure that the newly renovated location offers a welcoming environment for both regulars and new customers.
Supervisor Jim Monaghan praised the Dunkin’ team for their contribution to the local economy. “This Dunkin’ location is an important part of our community,” he said during the ceremony. “It’s wonderful to see local businesses investing in the future of Stony Point, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this reopening.”
The event continued into the afternoon, with more giveaways and excitement planned for local residents. Dunkin’s reopening brings with it not only a beloved spot for coffee and doughnuts but also a renewed sense of community spirit, a sentiment echoed by Rockland Legislator Doug Jobson and others present at the ribbon cutting.
