Nyack, NY – The Edward Hopper House just announced that the Hal Keshner Trio, featuring Bruce Schaffel and Paul Speziale, with special guest vocalist Crystal Spivey, will entertain guests at the Jazz Brunch on June 2. This event, to be held at the historic Pretty Penny in Nyack, promises a delightful blend of music, art, and history.
LIVE JAZZ
Hal Keshner, known for his versatility on the keyboard, vocals, and kazoo, will lead the trio. Keshner, who has captivated audiences as a musical director for various community theater productions and pop and doo-wop shows, is also a familiar presence online through his Facebook series “Hal’s Piano Lounge”. His performances are known for their swinging tunes and catchy lyrics. Joining him are Bruce Schaffel on reeds and Paul Speziale on guitar, both integral parts of his long-standing trio. This special performance will also feature Crystal Spivey, whose vocal talents are sure to add an extra layer of magic to the event.
SPRING BENEFIT GARDEN PARTY
Attendees of the brunch will enjoy a picturesque setting, meandering through terraced gardens that slope gently towards the Tappan Zee. The air will be filled with jazz melodies, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere. Guests will savor delectable brunch bites and sip on curated cocktails while admiring beautifully designed floral arrangements. Adding to the artistic ambiance, plein air painters will be working live on site, offering a unique visual experience.
The event is not just a celebration of music and art, but also a significant fundraiser. Proceeds will support the Edward Hopper House Museum, ensuring the preservation of the legacy of one of America’s iconic painters. This year’s Spring Benefit is particularly special as it takes place at Pretty Penny, a historic home once owned by Helen Hayes and depicted in an Edward Hopper painting.
