Stony Point, NY – Town officials provided an important update on the ongoing lane closure on Farley Bridge as construction related to the Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) project continues.
Supervisor Jim Monaghan, Deputy Supervisor Amy Stamm, Police Chief Greg Becker, and Lt. Dan Schoales met with representatives from the CHPE team to address community concerns and review plans for managing the closure’s impact.
To improve traffic flow and safety:
- CHPE is coordinating with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) to enhance signage along the detour route and improve lane striping at the bridge’s north end.
- The Stony Point Police Department has stationed an officer at the bridge’s south end to assist with traffic control.
The lane closure is projected to remain in place throughout the summer. Officials are urging motorists to exercise caution and follow posted detours when traveling through the construction zone and surrounding side streets.
“We appreciate the community’s patience as this important infrastructure work progresses,” said town officials. “Further updates will be provided as they become available.”
