NEW CITY, N.Y. — A former Rockland County corrections officer has been sentenced to state prison following a guilty plea to multiple child exploitation charges.
Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced that Daniel Dworkin, 45, of Valley Cottage, was sentenced to one to three years in state prison by Judge David M. Ascher.
Dworkin previously pleaded guilty in September 2025 to the full indictment, which included 64 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 64 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
The investigation began after a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was referred to the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. The office is a member agency of the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Authorities said that between Feb. 21, 2024, and June 19, 2024, the defendant uploaded numerous images and videos depicting sexual performances by children under the age of 17 to a Google Drive account.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement executed multiple search warrants on the defendant’s internet accounts, electronic devices, residence and place of employment.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a $1,000 fine. Dworkin will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
The investigation was conducted by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and Special Victims Unit, with assistance from the Clarkstown Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.
The case was prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit.
