Haverstraw, NY — Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh announced that a Grand Jury has indicted three young men from West Haverstraw in connection with a violent robbery that occurred earlier this month in the Village of Haverstraw.
Valadmair Fogle, 19, David Ross, 23, and Elijah Eurie, 18, have each been charged with two counts of Robbery in the Second Degree (Penal Law §§160.10(1), 160.10(2)(a)) following a disturbing attack on a 61-year-old local resident.
According to the indictment, on the evening of July 11 at approximately 7:22 p.m., the defendants approached the victim as he descended the steps of his home at 47 New Main Street. The trio allegedly grabbed the man by his shirt, struck him in the right eye and behind the neck, and continued the assault as he fell to the ground on New Main Street. During the altercation, the assailants reportedly stole a silver chain necklace from the victim’s neck before fleeing toward Clove Avenue.
The incident left the victim with an eye injury and significant pain. Authorities report that the crime was captured on footage from a surveillance drone operating in the area at the time.
The Town of Haverstraw Police Department led the investigation, with support from the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Meghan Garvey.
If convicted, the defendants each face a potential prison sentence ranging from a minimum of 3½ years to a maximum of 15 years under state law.
Authorities remind the public that an indictment is an accusation, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
