Today, Marine Corps veteran and former Rockland County Legislator John Murphy was inducted into the New York State Veterans Hall of Fame. He was nominated by Senator Bill Weber. The ceremony took place in Albany, NY.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor than John Murphy. His dedication to Rockland County is unparalleled, and it was my honor to nominate him to the Veterans Hall of Fame,” said Senator Bill Weber.
The New York State Senate Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life. Their meritorious service to our nation deserves the special recognition that only a Hall of Fame can provide, as a fitting expression of our gratitude and admiration.
This induction is a testament to Murphy’s lifelong dedication and service to his community and country. His contributions in both military and civilian capacities have left an indelible mark on Rockland County, making him a fitting inductee into the prestigious Hall of Fame.
