Nyack, NY –This Sunday morning, the Village of Nyack invites residents and visitors to join in a tribute to the volunteer firefighters who protect the community. The Firefighter’s Memorial Parade will take place to honor these local heroes.
The parade steps off at 9:00 AM from New Street, following a route that winds through Broadway, Main Street, Midland Avenue, and Sickles Avenue, ultimately arriving at the Firefighters Memorial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
This annual procession honors the firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice over the past year. As the community gathers along the route, participants are encouraged to observe the solemnity of the occasion, paying respect to those who risk their lives to keep Nyack and surrounding areas safe.
The parade will be accompanied by members of the Nyack Fire Department and the following 15 surrounding volunteer fire departments who were instrumental in this week’s firefighting efforts:
