
Orangetown, NY (February 3, 2026) – Wesleigh Gilsenan, 41, of Orangetown, was convicted of Burglary in the Second Degree in Rockland County Court following a two-day bench trial, according to an announcement from District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II.
The verdict, delivered by the Honorable Judge Kevin F. Russo on January 30, stems from an incident that occurred on April 24, 2025. Gilsenan was found guilty of unlawfully entering a first-floor apartment in the Village of Spring Valley around 10:50 a.m. and rummaging through the victim’s belongings, including medication and money.
Following his conviction, Gilsenan was remanded to the Rockland County Jail without bail. He now faces a potential sentence of up to 15 years in state prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for April 29, 2026.
“Burglary is a serious crime that violates the safety and privacy of our residents,” said District Attorney Walsh. “My Office remains committed to prosecuting those who violate the law and disrupt the sense of security in our neighborhoods.”
The case was investigated by the Spring Valley Police Department with assistance from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations. It was prosecuted by Supervising Assistant District Attorney Emily McNiff and Assistant District Attorney Katie Crispi.
