Funeral services are being held later this week for one of the town of Clarkstown’s oldest residents. Rita McCullough lived in New City since 1964 and was the oldest and longest participating member of the Clarkstown Senior Club. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann celebrated her when he declared April 23rd, 2021 as Rita McCullough Day. She passed away on Friday. A visitation will be held tomorrow from 3-7PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service in New City. A funeral mass will be Friday at 10AM at St. Augustine Church in New City with burial to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet. In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to “Saint Augustine” or the charity of your choice. She was 109 years old and would have turned 110 in April.
