Clarkstown’s Town Clerk Justin Sweet has thrown his hat in to the ring to run for town supervisor. The door was left open after a judge last week upheld the town’s term limits law, which current supervisor George Hoehmann had sought to overturn. Barring an appeal, Hoehmann would be precluded from running again for the town’s top spot. Sweet has been the town clerk since 2011, when he was appointed take over for David Carlucci’s unfinished term, who at that time ran for state senator.
