Funeral services have been scheduled for a former Nyack Police Chief who passed away on Saturday. Thomas George Coffey of Pearl River served with the Nyack Police department beginning in 1956 and retired as chief 32 years later. Coffey was a long-standing member of the New York State and Rockland County Retired Chiefs of Police Associations, the American Legion, and supported Blue Star families, The Boys Club, he ran and supported the Camp Shanks Museum for many years, and was an active member of the Korean War Veterans’ organization. Visitation will be held at Hannemann Funeral Home on South Broadway in Nyack on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at St. Aedan’s Church, in Pearl River at 10am. He was 94 years old.
