A Monsey man will spend seven years in prison after pleading guilty to Kidnapping on Friday. Rockland District Attorney Tom Walsh says 31 year-old Jonathan Abikzer had been charged last August in the incident. The Journal News reported Abikzer and his co-defendant, 46 year-old Michael Galkovich of New City, met at a motel in Garnerville claiming to have an estimate for motel room renovations for another man. They reportedly held the man at gunpoint for several hours, forcing him to transfer money through a mobile app. The man was eventually released and he called the police. Abikzer will be sentenced September 13th, while Galkovich will reportedly get probation when he is sentenced September 19th.
