The head of a regional transit advocacy group is urging the MTA to extend the public hearing on their Central Business District Tolling Program, more commonly known as congestion pricing. The MTA’s controversial plan, which is designed to raise money to make repairs and improvements to the MTA transit system and encourage more people to use mass transit, would levy heavy tolls on Rockland and other west-of-Hudson commuters and others going south of 60th street in Manhattan. It’s expected to get the go-ahead and start late next year.
