Yesterday marked 41 years since Rockland changed forever. The Brink’s Robbery in Nanuet on October 20th, 1981, left two Nyack police officers and a security guard dead. People gathered yesterday afternoon for a ceremony at the Brink’s Memorial in Nyack to honor the victims. Terrorists from “The Weather Underground” grabbed $1.6 million from a Brink’s truck at the old Nanuet Mall. Nyack Police Sergeant Edward O’Grady, officer Waverly “Chipper” Brown, and Brink’s guard Peter Paige were all killed in a shootout.
