The Stony Point Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own. Retired Detective Sergeant John “Jack” Coleman died suddenly at his home on Monday. Born in Nyack, Coleman served Stony Point for 30 years, retiring in 2009. He served as Historian for Rockland County Shields, he was a member of the Rockland County PBA, and the Rockland County Emerald Society. He and wife, Pat, celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary on Friday. Funeral arrangements have not been announced. He would have turned 66 years old next month.
