The poll does note that there are differences of opinion based on party affiliation. The poll found that Republicans rank crime first at 42 percent and that was followed by inflation at 31 percent. For Democrats, Quinnipiac says 23 percent think the top issue is protecting democracy, followed by crime at 18 percent, and then inflation in third at 12 percent.
