New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) is Scheduled to Start Paving on Route 59 Between Route 303 and Route 9w on Monday, August 22, 2022.
This is an overnight paving project, expected to last 5 nights. DOT Crews will be on site around 8PM and paving is scheduled to start by 10pm and finish by 6AM. The schedule from the DOT is as follows:
- Night one, August 22, 2022, DOT will be starting on the East Bound Right Lane and will pull from Rte 303 to Rte 9W.
- Night two, August 23, 2022, DOE will pave on the East Bound Left Lane but will pull from Rte 9W to Rte 303.
- Nights 3 and 4, August 24, 2022 & August 25, 2022 will be the same process but on the West Bound Lanes.
- DOT will close both lanes on East Bound nights 1 and 2 and both lanes on West Bound nights 3 and 4 – to accommodate DOT vehicles and equipment.
- Route 59 will be closed completely in the work zone, with the exception of the I-287 intersection which will have a flagger to direct traffic through.
- The lanes that are not shutting down each night will be diverted to one lane in each direction.
Access will be maintained at all times, but delays are to be expected. Thank you for your cooperation during this process.
The Village of Nyack is planning to repave Main Street from Rte 9w to Franklin Street in the fall, contingent on a drainage improvement project completion.
