RAMAPO, NY — Police are searching for a masked suspect after a late-night robbery in the Hillcrest neighborhood left a woman seriously injured on Thursday.
According to the Ramapo Police Department, officers were called to East Hickory Street around 10:45 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. When they arrived, they found a female victim who told officers she had been confronted by a man wearing dark clothing and a mask.
Police say the suspect threatened her with a knife, robbed her, and then fled the area on foot. During the attack, the woman sustained significant injuries. She was taken to a local hospital, where officials say she is now in stable condition.
Detectives from the Ramapo Police Investigations Division are actively working the case and are asking for the public’s help. Anyone who may have seen the suspect or has information about the incident is urged to contact police at 845-357-2400.
Authorities have not yet released additional details about the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
