Ramapo, NY – Supervisor Michael Specht and the Ramapo Town Board hosted county officials, dignitaries, and community members for the town’s annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, commemorating the 23rd anniversary of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. The ceremony honored the memory of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on that day, including 19 Ramapo residents.
The town solemnly remembered residents who perished on 9/11: Calixto Anaya, Jr., Japhet Aryee, Richard Bosco, Bernard Favuzza, Andrew Fredericks, Steven Furman, Denis Germain, John Ginley, David Graifman, Robert J. Gschaar, Dana Hannon, Farah Jeudy, Patricia McAneney, Joseph Roberto, Christopher Scudder, Gregory Sikorsky, Mohammed Shajahan, Vernon Richard, and Benjamin Walker. The ceremony also paid tribute to Robert Kirkpatrick, who died in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
The annual memorial serves as a reminder of the lives lost and the resilience of the community in the face of tragedy. We will never forget.
