Ramapo, NY – The Town of Ramapo is inviting residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to participate in a public open house on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Town of Ramapo Town Hall Council Room. The event aims to gather input on key issues, opportunities, and future plans for the unincorporated areas of Monsey and Western Ramapo.
The open house is part of the Comprehensive Plan Update and Generic Environmental Impact Statement (GEIS), which will help shape the future of growth and sustainable development in these areas. The plan will address challenges such as population growth, traffic congestion, walkability, and housing attainability, ensuring that future development aligns with community needs.
Unlike traditional meetings, this open house format allows attendees to drop in at any time to explore informational displays, engage in discussions, and share their perspectives at interactive activity stations. There will be no formal presentation, allowing for a more flexible and open exchange of ideas.
“We hope to hear from a wide range of stakeholders and voices in this process,” said Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht. “This plan will be a blueprint for development and priority investments for years to come, and we want it to be shaped by the people who live and work in the community.”
The town encourages all interested parties to attend and contribute their insights to help shape the future of Monsey and Western Ramapo.
