Pomona, NY — Supervisor Michael Specht launched the First Annual Safety Expo Extravaganza at Clover Stadium, bringing together a wide array of public safety, health, and emergency response organizations for a day of community engagement and education.
Held in collaboration with the Ramapo Police Department, W. P. Faist Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Spring Hill EMS, Hatzolah, Chaverim, Bikur Cholim, and several Rockland County departments—including Health, Personnel, and Social Services—the event offered residents a chance to learn firsthand about safety practices, health resources, and local emergency services.
In addition to safety information, attendees explored the Town of Ramapo’s Comprehensive Planning process and the Safe Streets Ramapo Safety Action Plan, both aimed at improving quality of life and infrastructure for residents.
Supervisor Specht was joined by New York State Assemblyman Aron Weider, County Legislators Jesse Malowitz and Beth Davidson, Rockland County Health Commissioner Dr. Mary P. Leahy, County Executive Ed Day, and Social Services Commissioner Joan Silvestri, reflecting a strong show of support from all levels of government.
The event highlighted the power of collaboration in building a safer, healthier community and is expected to become a recurring initiative in the years ahead.
