Ramapo, NY — A road-rage confrontation escalated into violence Monday morning, leaving one man injured and another facing felony charges, according to Ramapo Police.
Officers were called to the parking lot of 5 North Airmont Road around 9:00 a.m. for a reported assault. Police say the incident began as a traffic-related dispute and turned physical when a 30-year-old Spring Valley man allegedly struck a 29-year-old West Nyack man with a tire iron.
The victim suffered injuries to his ribs, knee, elbow, and hip. He was treated at the scene before seeking additional medical care.
Police located the suspect a short time later and took him into custody. The tire iron believed to have been used in the assault was recovered as evidence.
The suspect has been charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and is awaiting arraignment. Police have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
