Rockland County, NY— Rockland County is mourning the loss of one of its emergency communications professionals, a veteran dispatcher whose career in public safety spanned more than three decades in Rockland County.
Police Dispatcher Dominick J. D’Alisera died March 3, 2026, at the age of 47. D’Alisera joined the Ramapo Police Department in 2022 after more than 20 years working as a police dispatcher for both the Spring Valley Police Department and the Haverstraw Police Department.
During his career in emergency communications, D’Alisera handled thousands of calls for service and received multiple commendations for his work assisting police and emergency responders. Officials said his role placed him at the center of critical incidents, helping coordinate responses and support officers in the field.
While serving at the Spring Valley Police Department, where he worked for more than 16 years beginning in 2005, D’Alisera helped implement several key systems, including the department’s records management system, telephone infrastructure and 911 system.
Beyond his work as a dispatcher, D’Alisera was active in volunteer emergency services across Rockland County. He was a life member of Volunteer Hose Company No. 2 of the West Haverstraw Fire Department and also served with Haverstraw Ambulance Corps.
Throughout his career, he was recognized for his professionalism and service. In 2008, he was acknowledged for assisting in the resolution of a violent assault investigation in Spring Valley. The following year, he was named Dispatcher of the Year for his role in managing a domestic crisis call that helped save the lives of three people, including a child.
D’Alisera also served six years as a union president with the Civil Service Employees Association and volunteered with a youth and police outreach program.
Most recently assigned to the midnight shift with the Ramapo Police Department, officials said he remained dedicated to supporting officers and protecting the community.
D’Alisera, who lived in Orangeburg, New York, is survived by his wife, Lindsay, and their 2-year-old son, Jack, as well as his mother, Patricia; brothers Frank, Nicholas and Vincent; and extended family members.
He was also a member of Sons of Italy Rockland Lodge 2176 and remained active in community service throughout his life.
Visiting hours are scheduled for Sunday, March 8, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Pizzi Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in D’Alisera’s memory to the American Heart Association.
