Senator James Skoufis (D-Hudson Valley) distributed 1,500 stuffed animals throughout his Senate District last week, bringing some joy to local families heading into the holiday season.
After distributing 400 stuffed animals at two giveaways on December 19–one at his District Office in Newburgh and one at the Haverstraw Village Hall with local officials–Senator Skoufis and his team made drop-offs of the remaining 1,100 throughout Newburgh to Inspire, Head Start, Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Fearless!, and the Newburgh Enlarged City School District.
“I had a blast sharing festive cheer with some of our youngest neighbors,” said Senator Skoufis. “No matter their economic circumstance, every family deserves to feel comfort and joy during the holidays. My team and I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy start to the new year.”
Thanks to Village of West Haverstraw Mayor D’Amelio, Village of Haverstraw Mayor Kohut, Town of Haverstraw Supervisor Phillips, and Town of Haverstraw Councilmember Johnny Ortiz for co-hosting the December 19 Haverstraw giveaway. All stuffed animals were donated by Petsmart.
