(Spring Valley, NY) — The American Legion Moscarella Post #199, in partnership with the Village of Spring Valley, will host a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday, May 26th, 2025, to honor local veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The ceremony will take place at Village Hall, located at 200 N Main Street, Spring Valley, and will begin at 1:00 PM. The event, hosted by Spring Valley Mayor Alan M. Simon, will be a heartfelt tribute to the brave men and women from the Spring Valley area who served in the armed forces, with a special roll call for those listed on the monument at the Spring Valley Memorial Park.
“This ceremony provides an opportunity for the community to come together and remember those who answered the call of duty and never returned,” said Simon. “It’s an important tradition for our town to honor these heroes and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.”
The ceremony will feature various tributes, including the Posting and Retirement of the Military Colors, and will be attended by representatives from the U.S. Armed Forces in full uniform. Community members and families of veterans who served are encouraged to attend and pay their respects.
In addition to the Roll Call, the ceremony will include moments of reflection, giving residents the chance to honor their loved ones who gave their lives in service to the country. The event promises to be a meaningful observance, celebrating the courage and sacrifice of Spring Valley’s fallen heroes.
Residents of Spring Valley and the surrounding area are invited to join the ceremony and stand together to commemorate this important day. The Memorial Day event will serve as both a solemn remembrance and a moment to unite as a community in honoring the courage and dedication of those who served.
