STONY POINT, NY – As election season heats up, the Town of Stony Point has issued a reminder to residents regarding the placement of political signs. In a message posted on their official Facebook page, town officials emphasized that political signs are allowed only on private property and are prohibited in public right of ways, such as sidewalks, medians, and roadsides.
The announcement also highlighted that the Highway Department would be removing any signs placed improperly to ensure compliance with town regulations. “It has come to our attention that some signs have been removed from private property,” the town stated, urging residents to respect their neighbors’ rights to display political signs. In related news further south, 150 signs were stolen off of private property in Orangetown.
The town’s messages are calling for community cooperation and mutual respect during the election period, encouraging residents to work together to maintain a supportive and respectful environment.
