Suffern, NY — Village officials announced that garbage collection will be suspended on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to an approaching snowstorm expected to impact the area.
According to the Village, municipal crews will shift their full attention to snow-related operations, including plowing, salting, and clearing walkways, in an effort to keep roads and public areas safe during the storm.
Weather permitting, garbage collection is expected to resume across the entire Village on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Residents are encouraged to delay placing refuse at the curb until the revised collection day to avoid potential issues caused by snow accumulation.
Village officials advised residents to monitor local conditions and remain patient as crews prioritize public safety throughout the storm.
