Summer Camp Counselor job applications are being accepted until Friday, March 22 at 5 pm! Applicants must be age 16 by June 30th.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted, nor will such candidates be scheduled for an interview. As many applicants will be submitting their first job applications, it’s understood that it will be a learning process. An application checklist is included as part of the application packet to help applicants ensure all required documents are included. It’s encouraged to start at least 1-2 weeks before the deadline to allow enough time to obtain letters of recommendation and working papers.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to have their teen/young adult make inquiries on their own as it demonstrates maturity, independence, and a desire to learn, all qualities valued greatly at summer camp.
Completed applications can be turned in to the Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department office located in Veterans Memorial Park between the hours of 9 am-5 pm, Mondays – Fridays, or emailed to recreation@orangetown.com.
To complete the application, applicants must submit all required items from the Application Checklist provided. These include the Rockland County Personnel Application for Employment, two (2) letters of recommendation, working papers (if applicant is under age 18 at the time of application), employee emergency contact form, 4 Form, I9 Form (with scan or photo of required ID(s)), Retirement System Acknowledgement Form, and Employee’s Retirement System Membership Registration (only if opting into the retirement system).
Once all application process requirements are met, return the application to the Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department office no later than March 22, 2024. College students away at school should return their completed application as soon as possible to schedule an interview during their next school break or via Zoom.
