WEST HAVERSTRAW, NY — A domestic dispute in the Village of West Haverstraw on Monday afternoon ended in gunfire, leaving one man hospitalized and another facing multiple felony charges.
According to the Haverstraw Police Department, officers were called to a home on Mackey Court at approximately 4:34 p.m. on October 27, 2025, following reports of a domestic incident involving two men and a weapon.
When officers arrived, they found a male victim inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Police rendered immediate medical aid before the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he remains under medical care.
The suspect, identified as Tevin Williams, 28, who lives at the residence, was taken into custody at the scene without further incident and brought to the Haverstraw Police Department for processing.
Williams has been charged with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Use of a Firearm in the First Degree, three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the FBI–Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, and the Rockland County Intelligence Center assisted Haverstraw Police in the investigation.
Williams was arraigned in the Village of West Haverstraw Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released additional details about the motive or relationship between the two men.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
