New City, NY — Big changes are on the horizon at Zukor Park Playground as it undergoes a major renovation to become a fully inclusive, universally designed play space for children and families of all abilities. Starting this week, the playground will be temporarily closed for approximately two months to facilitate the transformation.
Once completed, the upgraded playground will proudly bear the name Mark Woods Memorial Playground in honor of the late Councilman Mark Woods and his dedicated service to the community. The memorial designation serves as a lasting tribute to Woods’ commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents.
“We’re excited to bring this vision to life and create a space where children of all abilities can play side by side,” town officials shared. “We appreciate the community’s patience during construction and can’t wait to celebrate the grand reopening.”
Residents are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on the progress of the playground’s transformation.
