Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco III partnered with the Spring Valley and Ramapo Police Departments and the New York State Police on a Community Gun Buyback event last evening at St. Joseph’s Church in the Village of Spring Valley.
Sheriff Falco announced that 56 guns were collected.
The breakdown of weapons was:
24 Handguns
28 Rifles and Shotguns
4 Antique or non-working guns
” Gun violence continues to threaten the residents of Rockland County and our State,” said Sheriff Falco. “Last evening, working with our partners in Spring Valley, Ramapo and the State Police we removed 56 firearms from our streets, guns that could have potentially been used in criminal and other violent acts. I will continue to partner with all of Rockland County law enforcement in our continuing efforts to keep the people of our County safe.”
