Message from Stephanie Dixon
Good afternoon,
I am writing to invite you to attend the annual Blessing of the Soil Event hosted by Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland (CCCSR) on Saturday, May 6th at noon. The theme of this year’s event is “From Seed to Supper.”
As you may know, the pandemic and inflation have affected many of our residents on different levels. Many families and individuals are struggling to put food on the table, and CCCSR has been working tirelessly to address this issue. Through their food pantry, they provide fresh produce to those in need — some of which is grown right on their site in their garden — which not only helps combat food insecurity but also promotes healthy eating habits.
Michelle Kleinman, Public Health Nutritionist at Rockland County Department of Health, will discuss the funding for the food pantry and the significance of providing fresh vegetables on-site. Michelle will also talk about the benefits of consuming freshly grown vegetables and how CCCSR is able to provide so much fresh produce to those in need.
Attached is the press release and flyer with additional information about this event.
Please RSVP and let us know if you or someone from your office can attend the event.
Thank you for considering this invitation and we hope to see you at the Blessing of the Soil Event.
