NANUET, NY– Nanuet Town Centre is teaming up with the New York Blood Center (NYBC) to host a community blood drive on Thursday, May 22, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The NYBC Bloodmobile will be stationed near Sombrero Tacoria on Fashion Drive, providing a convenient location for community members to donate and make a life-saving impact.
The blood drive invites both scheduled appointments and walk-ins, making it easy for everyone to participate. To schedule a donation, individuals can visit NYBC.org/sponsor and use Sponsor Code #68653.
“We’re excited to partner with New York Blood Center to host this important event,” said Keri Cunningham, Marketing Director of Nanuet Town Centre. “This is an opportunity for us to give back to the community and help support a cause that saves lives.”
The NYBC, which has been serving the tri-state area since 1964, supplies more than 500,000 life-saving blood products annually to over 150 hospitals, EMS, and healthcare partners in the region. The organization is part of New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe), spanning 17 states and delivering over one million blood products to more than 400 U.S. hospitals each year.
Andrea Cefarelli, Senior Vice President of New York Blood Center, expressed gratitude to Nanuet Town Centre for its support. “We’re so grateful for this partnership, especially as we head into ‘trauma season’ in late spring and summer when the demand for blood products increases. We typically see a drop in donations during this time due to travel and holiday schedules, so community events like this are vital to helping us ensure blood is available when it’s needed most.”
How to Donate:
- Eat well and stay hydrated before your donation.
- Bring a valid photo ID with you.
- Feel well and be symptom-free at the time of donation.
- Donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with signed parental consent form from NYBC).
In appreciation of each donor’s contribution, they will receive a box of Girl Scout Cookies and a NYBC dry bag.
Blood donations are essential to saving lives every day, and this drive provides a great opportunity for local residents to make a meaningful impact. If you’re unable to donate, consider encouraging friends and family to take part.
